Egypt: Protesters will March to the Presidential Palace

Protesters are preparing to march from Tahrir Square to the Presidential palace of Hosni Mubarak this morning to demand his immediate resignation.

Last night the President stated publicly that he would not stand for re-election in October but that has not appeased the protesters who desire his immediate departure and democratic elections to vote for a government of their choice.

As the protesters organise themselves it remains to be seen if the army, who have remained a passive presence in the square up to now will attempt to intervene and stop the protesters.
